Hello. We're really sorry, but we haven't had time to udpate this website since for a while. It will be updated soon! Feel free to look around, but you can get the latest information @ http://joeguintu.blogspot.com

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,

As many of you may know, an unforeseeable event that occurred almost seven months ago has profoundly changed our lives. While vacationing in Hawaii, Joe Guintu suffered a non-traumatic, but catastrophic spinal cord injury during his first ever surfing lesson that left him paralyzed. Joe experienced back pain, which progressively became unbearable. He was admitted to the hospital and was told that it may take months for him to walk again, if ever at all. This unexpected and life changing event has tested Joe’s character, optimism, and stamina to the full extent. However, with tremendous courage, community support, and rigorous therapies, Joe is moving forward and we are all convinced anything is possible despite remarkable adversity.

Please feel free to browse this site for more on Joe’s story and his recovery process.

This video was finished in September 2007 by Brett Fechter, Director of Media Production and trainer at Project Walk. Due to Joe's tremendous efforts at Project Walk combined with his rigorous therapy at Precision Rehabilitation (which he started in September), he has made great strides in his recovery. He continues holistic healing as well including acupuncture, acuscope myopulse, and neuromuscular massage/correction. With all of these efforts, combined with your prayers, Joe fully has faith that he can and will fully recover.
